Vietnam Visa Requirements

Citizens from 25 countries including UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN nations can visit visa-free for 15-90 days. US, Canadian, Australian, and Indian citizens need a visa but can easily apply online for an e-Visa.

The e-Visa is an electronic visa valid for 90 days with single or multiple entries. Apply online at xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn, pay $25, and receive your e-Visa within 3 working days. Valid at all international airports, land borders, and seaports.

Most e-Visa applications are processed within 3 working days. Apply at least 5 days before travel. The official government portal is evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn.

The e-Visa costs $25 for single-entry and $50 for multiple-entry. Visa on Arrival pre-approval letters cost $20-45, plus a stamping fee of $25-50 at the airport. Visa exemption is free.

Vietnam has an excellent approval rate of approximately 96% for e-Visas and tourist visas, reflecting its tourism-friendly policies.

VOA requires a pre-approval letter from a Vietnamese travel agency, then the visa is stamped at the airport. It costs more than e-Visa and involves more steps. The e-Visa is now recommended for most travelers.
