Malaysia Visa Requirements

Citizens from over 160 countries including the US, UK, EU nations, Australia, India, China, Japan, and ASEAN countries can visit Malaysia visa-free for 14-90 days. Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and a few other nationalities require a visa.

All visitors must complete the MDAC online within 3 days before arrival. It's free and replaces the paper arrival card. Submit at imigresen-online.imi.gov.my and save the acknowledgement to show at immigration.

Most Western nationalities get 90 days. ASEAN citizens get 30 days. Indian and Chinese nationals get 30 days. Some nationalities like Israelis get 14 days. Check the Malaysian Immigration website for your specific nationality.

The eVISA is for nationalities requiring a visa. Apply online at windowmalaysia.my, upload documents, pay the fee (around MYR 150), and receive approval within 3-5 working days. Valid for 30 days single entry.

Malaysia has a moderate approval rate of around 67% for visa-required nationalities, which include countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh that face higher scrutiny.

The Electronic Travel Registration & Information (eNTRI) is a simplified entry for Indian and Chinese passport holders. Register online, pay MYR 20, and receive instant approval for 15-day stays. Entry only via selected airports/ports.

Required documents include a valid passport (6+ months validity), completed application form, recent passport photo, confirmed return flight, proof of accommodation, and proof of sufficient funds.

Social Visit Pass extensions are possible at Immigration offices for up to 30 days per extension, maximum 90 days total for most nationalities. Extensions are discretionary and require valid reasons.
