Oman Visa Requirements

GCC citizens enter visa-free. Citizens from 103 countries (including US, UK, EU nations, China, India) can obtain an e-Visa online. GCC residents from certain countries can also get visas on arrival. Other nationalities need sponsored visas.

The e-Visa allows tourism without needing a local sponsor. Apply at evisa.rop.gov.om, choose 10-day or 30-day duration, pay OMR 5-20 ($13-52), and receive approval within 1-3 days.

10-day single entry: OMR 5 ($13). 30-day single entry: OMR 20 ($52). 1-year multiple entry: OMR 50 ($130). Express processing available for additional fees.

Visa on arrival is primarily available for GCC residents of certain nationalities. Most visitors should apply for an e-Visa online before travel. Check the ROP website for current eligibility.

Oman has a moderate approval rate of approximately 68%. Applications with complete documentation and genuine travel purposes are usually approved.

Required: valid passport (6+ months validity), recent passport photo, travel itinerary, hotel booking, return ticket, and valid email. No invitation letters required for tourist e-Visa.

e-Visa allows 10 or 30 days depending on visa type. Multiple entry visas allow multiple 30-day stays within 1 year. Extensions are possible through the Royal Oman Police.

Oman is more conservative than Dubai. Modest dress is expected in public: covered shoulders and knees for both genders. Swimwear is fine at beaches and pools. Respectful attire at mosques and religious sites.
