Qatar Visa Requirements

Citizens from over 95 countries including the US, UK, EU nations, GCC countries, and many Asian nations can visit Qatar visa-free for 30-90 days. Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, and some other nationalities may need visas or can use the Hayya platform.

Hayya is Qatar's digital entry permit system launched for the 2022 World Cup and now permanent. It allows eligible visitors to apply for entry permits online. Check hayya.qatar2022.qa for eligibility and to apply.

Most Western nationalities get 90 days visa-free (extendable). GCC citizens have unlimited stay. Some nationalities get 30 days. The stay period depends on your passport and can be checked at the Hayya portal.

Visa-free entry is free. Tourist visas for nationalities requiring them cost around QAR 100 ($27). Business and work visas have different fee structures. Qatar Airways passengers from select countries may get complimentary transit visas.

Qatar has a strong approval rate of approximately 82%. Pakistani and Bangladeshi applicants see moderate rates around 78-85% depending on documentation quality.

Qatar Airways offers complimentary transit visas and hotel stays for passengers with layovers of 8+ hours on eligible routes. Book through Qatar Airways to access the Stopover package including visa and accommodation.

For visa-free visitors: valid passport (6+ months validity), return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation. Some nationalities may need hotel bookings or invitation letters. No specific financial requirements for tourists.

Alcohol is available to visitors at licensed hotels and restaurants. It's illegal to drink in public or be intoxicated in public. Visitors can purchase alcohol at the Qatar Duty Free upon arrival with their boarding pass.
