Our Sources
Every fact in our visa guides comes from official sources. Here's how we research, verify, and keep information current.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
Visa requirements can make or break your travel plans. That's why we only use official government sources and cite everything. If we can't verify something from an official source, we don't include it. Every guide shows when it was last verified so you know how current the information is.
Where We Get Our Information
Government Immigration Portals
Official immigration department websites
Embassy & Consulate Websites
Country-specific embassy pages with local requirements
Authorized Visa Centers
Official visa application service providers
Official Statistics
Government-published immigration statistics and reports
Our Research Process
Primary Source Research
We start with the destination country's official immigration website. This is always our primary source for requirements, fees, and processing times. We then cross-reference with embassy websites for the specific origin country.
Verification & Cross-Reference
We verify information across multiple official sources. If the government website says one thing but the embassy says another, we investigate further or note the discrepancy. We never use unofficial sources like travel blogs or forums as primary references.
Citation & Documentation
Every fact is linked to its source. In our article markdown, we use inline citations that reference specific sources. This allows you to verify any claim by clicking through to the original source. We also record when each source was accessed.
Ongoing Monitoring
Visa requirements change. We monitor official sources for updates and re-verify high-traffic guides regularly. Each guide shows its "last verified" date. When requirements change, we update the guide and note what changed.
Approval Rate Data
Our approval rate statistics come from official government data, including:
- Published immigration statistics from destination countries
- Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and responses
- Annual immigration reports and parliamentary disclosures
- Quarterly visa statistics publications
We always note the year and source of statistical data. Approval rates are historical and do not predict or guarantee outcomes for individual applications.
What We Don't Use as Sources
We do not use the following as primary sources:
- • Travel blogs or personal experience posts
- • Forum discussions or social media comments
- • Visa agency marketing materials
- • Unofficial aggregator websites
- • Outdated guidebooks or articles without dates
